I am writing to express my total disappointment in the decision by “the board” to stop hot meals in the Cantino on Friday nights. I believe this to be a HUGE mistake which will manifest itself in a lack of attendance resulting in decreased bar revenues. It think it is very short-sighted, to say the least.
I am also dismayed that the board, obviously, has been considering this action, yet no word has been brought forth to the membership for input. It seems very unilateral and not very well thought out. This decision, I believe, definitely falls in the “penny wise, pound foolish” category and will have a negative effect on the membership. I intend to raise this issue at the July meeting.
Thank you for the opportunity to express my frustration.
Today is a sad day. We have decided after much thought, that we no longer feel the need to belong to the IHC. This decision was not made solely on the boards decision to take away our Friday happy hour, it goes much deeper than that. For the past several years we have gone from the IHC/banquet center to Banquetcenter/IHC. It no longer feels like our private club. The board seems to think their decisions don’t warrant feedback from us members. Now is not the time to alienate faithful members. Our yearly dues as a whole amounts to a good chunk of change as well as member functions.Yes the economy is bad but none of the thousands of dollars in renovations made one differance to our Cantina. After twenty three years we must say goodbye to our once beloved Italian Heritage Center.
